There is no single schedule for every home. Bedding used by an outdoor-loving dog may need washing more often than a blanket used by an indoor cat.
Start with a regular routine
Check bedding weekly for hair, dirt, moisture and odour.
Wash sooner after accidents
Soiled or damp bedding should be cleaned promptly according to its care instructions.
Heavy shedding changes the schedule
During seasonal shedding, more frequent vacuuming or washing may be helpful.
Keep a spare cover
A second washable cover can make cleaning easier without removing the pet's resting place for long.
